What you will love about this home

Bienvenidos!

Casa Perla Mar is a wonderful two-story beachfront home that is literally just steps from the warm ocean water. You can’t get any closer to the beach! The house consists of two separate living units, one on each floor. Each unit is a one bedroom with living area, complete with private bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. This is rented out as one house, using both floors. It is the perfect place for 2 couples (or small families) to enjoy Paradise! Each floor has AC in the bedroom, and there are fans on each floor. The bedrooms have queen size beds. There is a twin size trundle bed on each floor as well. A trundle is two twin beds, one of which pulls out from the bottom. Both kitchens have a microwave oven, fridge, stove, coffee pot, and household necessities. There is a washing machine on the first level. Towels and linens are provided for 6-8 people.

What you will love about this neighborhood

Playa Samara is a hidden gem on Costa Rico’s North Pacific coast, located on the Nicoya Peninsula in the Guanacaste Province. It has been a favorite laid-back beach town of tourists and “Ticos” (Costa Ricans) for years. It’s known as one of the most beautiful and safest beaches in all of Costa Rica. Playa Samara is the perfect place to escape the cares of the life and enjoy peace of mind in Paradise. The property is located close to a fisherman’s neighborhood, so you can buy the best seafood right in front of the house!

It is the best of all worlds—quiet and tranquil, yet still a “happening” place with many delicious and inexpensive restaurants, craft breweries, fruit stands, bakeries, and more. In town you can delight in a holistic massage, a yoga session, a workout at the local gym, or one of many other conveniences intended to enrich the mind, body and spirit. You probably don’t need a car to get around in this town- everything is within walking distance (within about 1 mile). The town becomes “happening” during special events and Holidays, and gets quite busy, which is why our house being on the outskirts of town provides a more tranquil environment. Waking to the sound of the breaking waves is precious for the soul.

On the beach- try horse-back riding on the sand, kayaking, scuba diving or snorkeling to see firsthand the awe-inspiring beauties of the coral reef, or surfing. Wingnuts is a local company offering a fun zip line experience. Playa Samara is one of the best places in the world to learn how to surf—regardless of your age or experience. Stop by one of the surf shops along the beach to rent a board and take lessons from a local pro. The waves here are considered “beginner size”. The water temperature is always perfect- usually 80-85 degrees, so you don’t need a wetsuit.

One of the most peaceful experiences you can experience is just “hanging out” on the front porch or upper balcony and listening to the waves continuously roll in on the shore. It is nourishment for the soul; it inspires well-being and creativity; it naturally rejuvenates and relaxes your mind, allowing you to see the most important things in life more clearly. It is not an exaggeration to say that you will leave a happier person than you arrived.

Pure Vida!

Additional information

There are two major banks in town, several grocery stores, a laundromat, and all the other basic necessities. It’s worth your time doing an internet search for other interesting activities in the area.

The reason other Costa Rican beaches have higher rates of theft is because most of the residents are wealthy tourists. Playa Samara is different because it remains the home of all various types of Costa Ricans, from English-speaking Tico surfers to semi-indigenous natives. It is more of an authentic Costa Rican experience, with less worry. You will notice when arriving at the property that the neighbors are mostly locals who live in small homes or shacks, not mansions. This is how the town still maintains its authentic Costa Rican aura while being one of the most desirable semi-secret vacation destinations for travelers from all around the world.

The Guanacaste Peninsula is considered to be a dry tropical rain forest, wet 7 months of the year and dry 5 months of the year. The dry season typically starts in late November and runs through April.

The AC in the bedroom is not set up to cool the whole floor. We ask that you please keep the bedroom door closed while it is running. We have fans on each floor.

Please note that there are security cameras at the property. There is a monitor on the first floor which shows the different views. These are set up for your security and the security of the house.

You will be greeted by a local representative who has vast knowledge of the area. Check in time is 4pm and check out is 10am. There is a cleaning fee of $80 USD. We prefer payment through PayPal for the cleaning fee.

Minimum of 3 nights please.
